All About Operation Sindoor — India’s Targeted Strikes In Pakistan & PoK

India has launched Operation Sindoor targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK)

In a calibrated response to the deadly April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen, the Indian Army launched a targeted military operation named Operation Sindoor. The announcement followed reports of multiple explosions across various locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------According to an official statement from the Press Information Bureau (PIB), the operation specifically targeted terrorist infrastructure used to plan and direct attacks against India. “Altogether, nine (9) sites have been targeted. Our actions have been focused, measured, and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in the selection of targets and the method of execution,” the statement noted.

New call-to-action

The strikes are being seen as a direct response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack, which the Indian government described as barbaric. The PIB added, “We are living up to the commitment that those responsible for this attack will be held accountable. There will be detailed briefing on ‘OPERATION SINDOOR’, later today.”

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s army acknowledged that three locations had been hit in the strikes, identifying two in Pakistani-administered Kashmir and one in Bahawalpur, located in Punjab province near the Indian border.

Shortly before confirming the operation, the Indian Army shared a video on social media platform X with the caption, “Ready to Strike, Trained to Win.” Later, another post simply read: “Justice is Served. Jai Hind.”
