For many South Asians, Britannia biscuits are more than just a snack, they are a familiar part of childhood memories, tea-time rituals, family gatherings, and a household name. Now, those much-loved favourites are becoming easier to find across New Zealand, as Kashish Foods New Zealand expands the brand's reach into major supermarket chains.

Following the successful introduction of Dabur India's popular Real Juice range into Foodstuffs North Island stores, Kashish Foods New Zealand has achieved another significant retail milestone with the launch of Britannia biscuits across PAK'nSAVE and New World supermarkets.

Shoppers can now find a range of Britannia products on shelves, including popular favourites such as Little Hearts, Good Day, Bourbon and Cake Rusk, among other biscuits and cookies.

Sharing the news on LinkedIn, Kashish Gupta, BDM at MG International Food Group New Zealand, reflected on the journey behind the launch.

"Biscuits - not a category that I thought I would be talking about when it comes to NPD launch into Foodstuffs North Island Limited! But here we are, marking a major milestone in our retail journey"

New call-to-action

The expansion follows MG International's acquisition of the Britannia distribution partnership last year, a move that Gupta says was driven by the brand's untapped potential in the New Zealand market.

"We are proud to be bringing the Britannia Industries Limited range of Biscuits and Cookies across PAK'nSAVE and New World NZ stores! When we took over the Britannia distribution partnership last year, we knew the brand had immense, untapped potential. For years, these products were limited to independent supermarkets—but we saw a bigger future," he added.

The move brings one of India's most recognised food brands into mainstream retail channels, making the products accessible to a wider range of Kiwi consumers. Globally, Britannia is present in more than 2.8 million retail outlets, produces approximately 433,000 tonnes of biscuits annually and generates annual revenue of around US$2.1 billion.

"Its quality is trusted internationally and it'll be interesting to see what the Kiwi consumers think of these range of biscuits," Kashish said.

For Kashish Foods New Zealand, the launch represents another step in its strategy of introducing established international brands to New Zealand supermarket shoppers.

"A massive thank you to the team at Foodstuffs for sharing our vision and making this iconic brand accessible to every Kiwi shopper is a massive milestone for us, and we are just getting started," Kashish said.

The Britannia rollout comes just weeks after the company introduced Dabur's Real Juice range in multiple flavours to Foodstuffs North Island stores.

“We are thrilled to officially announce that Real Juice has landed in Foodstuffs North Island Limited stores, now available at PAK'nSAVE and New World NZ !,” Gupta shared a few weeks ago.

The juice range quickly gained visibility through prominent in-store displays at Pak'nSave Manukau and New World Papatoetoe, helping introduce the products to New Zealand shoppers.

According to Gupta, strong in-store positioning contributed to an encouraging early response from customers.

“Thanks to this prominent setup, the launch response has been phenomenal, with over $25,000 in sales in the first few days,” Kashish said.

With both the Real Juice and Britannia launches now reaching major supermarket shelves, Kashish Foods New Zealand continues to expand the availability of well-known South Asian consumer brands, giving Kiwi shoppers greater access to products that have long enjoyed popularity in markets around the world.
