Bank of India NZ to unveil BOINZ Freedom app, promising easier banking

Bank of India New Zealand is set to launch a new mobile banking app designed to make everyday banking and remittance services easier and more accessible for customers.

The BOINZ Freedom app will be launched on August 15, coinciding with Indian Independence Day.

Bank of India New Zealand Managing Director Kuldeep Ram Kishore said the name was chosen to reflect the greater financial freedom the app aims to offer customers.

“We are launching the App on 15 August which is on Indian Independence Day, we have named the App as BOIFreedom - so we are letting our customers, old and new, have financial freedom,” he said.

The app has been developed with features used by international businesses and leading banks, with a focus on providing customers with modern banking functionality through a simple and secure platform.

Ram Kishore said security had been a key consideration in developing the app.

“We have taken care of security very much,” he said.

The app includes two-factor authentication (2FA), biometric login and MPIN-based login options.

Ram Kishore said the security features were designed to make the app suitable for customers across different age groups, including senior citizens.

The app will also provide updated exchange rates and introduce new features aimed at making remittance services easier for customers.

BOIFreedom will be available to download on iOS and Android from August 15.

The launch is expected to give Bank of India New Zealand customers greater access to banking services through their mobile devices, while providing additional convenience for those using remittance services.
