Saudi Arabia's first male humanoid robot has sparked controversy after being accused of "harassing" a female reporter during an event, as reported by Times Now.

The incident occurred at DeepFest, an event showcasing Saudi Arabia's advancements in artificial intelligence, held at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center from March 4 to March 7. In a viral video, the robot can be seen extending its hand towards a female reporter while she discusses its features.

The robot, dressed in traditional Saudi attire, was designed to interact with visitors and highlight the country's progress in AI technology. Despite its intended role as a symbol of Saudi innovation, the incident has raised concerns about the boundaries of human-robot interactions and the need for respectful behavior in public settings.

"I am the first Saudi robot in the form of a man. Manufactured and developed here in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, I represent a national endeavor showcasing our AI achievements. Together, we usher in a new era of innovation," said the robot, emphasizing its role in promoting technological advancements in the country.

While some argued that a "technical glitch" must have led to the mishap, others on the internet called the act "intentional" and questioned the appropriate use of humanoid robots in public spaces to ensure that they adhere to ethical standards and respect human dignity.
