Community leader Illango Krishnamoorthy has shared details of an alleged road-rage incident near Lambie Drive, Druces Road and Kerrs Avenue, posting photographs of facial bruising and a damaged phone and headphones on Facebook.

Krishnamoorthy, who has previously shared his views on community welfare in The Indian Weekender, clarified on social media post that he was the victim of the incident.

In a Facebook post, he wrote,

"I experienced something I never expected: a road-rage incident involving my company van.
I want to share my side clearly. I was the victim, not the aggressor."

Krishnamoorthy said he was assaulted during the incident, his phone was smashed, and he was "left with bruising on my right cheekbone."

"I went to the doctor, and thankfully, I am okay now," he shared.

He said he chose not to retaliate during the incident.

"made a conscious choice not to strike back."

"As someone with martial-arts experience, even though I no longer practise, I knew how easily self-defence could be viewed as excessive force. I had too much to lose, so I chose restraint."

Krishnamoorthy said there were witnesses, including a man who stopped and gave him his phone number.

According to his post, police responded promptly, secured the situation, reviewed available traffic-camera evidence, explained his rights as a victim and took his statement.

"My heartfelt thanks to Sergeant J. M., D., and the other officers who attended," he wrote.

He said the experience had shaken him but that he had chosen to respond with compassion.

"Am I angry? No. I am grateful to be safe, and I ask for your prayers—for my wellbeing, and for the two young women involved, that they receive the help and healing they need."
