Hyderabad Uber driver’s story hailed as real example of women empowerment
A Hyderabad man shared a moving real-life story on X after a routine Uber ride turned into an inspiring example of women’s empowerment. Reported by Sakshi Sah from HT.
Suresh Kochattil from Hyderabad took to X to talk about meeting his cab driver, Nandini, who has been driving with Uber for the past year.
Women’s empowerment is often spoken about in speeches and online campaigns, but Kochattil’s experience highlighted how it is sometimes best reflected through everyday acts of courage. What started as a simple trip between two media studios soon became a powerful reminder of resilience.
According to his post, Kochattil’s booking was cancelled twice before a third driver was assigned. When he noticed the driver’s name was a woman’s, he was surprised and curious about who would arrive. He later shared the incident along with a photo of the woman driving the cab.
During the ride, the driver opened up about her life. Nandini is a single mother of three children and originally hails from Vijayawada. Despite facing multiple challenges, she continues to work hard every day to ensure her children receive a good education and have a better future.
Her story left a strong impression on Kochattil, who described her journey as a true example of strength and determination.
“Here is a wonderful example of how a lady overcame adversity and keeps working hard,” Kochattil adds.
