A truck driver allegedly grabbed an Auckland schoolgirl as she walked home on Tuesday.
Police investigating the "concerning" incident said it happened around South Titirangi Road, near the intersection with Tinopai Road, shortly before 4.30pm.
A man driving a truck pulled up beside a school-aged girl and grabbed her by the arm, acting detective sergeant Ben Bergin said.
"She managed to break free of his grasp and run home," he said.
"Police are seeking sightings and footage of his truck."
The truck was described as white-coloured with a flat deck that had writing on its side.
The man was described as being in his 50s and Caucasian.
Anyone who saw a truck matching that description in Titirangi, New Lynn or Green Bay on Tuesday should call police on 105 quoting file number 240319/5568, Bergin said.
Those with dashcam footage from around the area at that time was also asked to get in touch, as were homes that faced South Titirangi Road and had CCTV cameras.
Information could also be provided anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
A social media post from Green Bay High School noted it was a student from their school was who approached by the truck driver, and he tried to pull her into his truck.
The school sent a safety messages to students telling them to walk to school in a group, stay on roads where other people were present, and never get into a vehicle with a stranger.
