Amazon India announced on Thursday that its flagship Great Indian Festival 2025 has witnessed an unprecedented 38 crore customer visits in just the first two days. The e-commerce giant said that over 70% of the visits came from beyond the top nine metro cities, signalling massive demand from tier 2 and tier 3 regions, The Hindu reported.

The sale, which kicked off with Prime Early Access on September 22 and opened to all customers on September 23, will continue until Diwali.

New call-to-action

According to a report by The Hindu, Amazon highlighted that Prime members in smaller towns drove strong demand across key categories. Over 30 lakh products were delivered in metro cities within a day, while more than 50 lakh products reached tier 2 and 3 customers in two days. Smartphones witnessed double-digit growth, with premium devices priced above ₹20,000 recording a 50% year-on-year surge. Premium TVs also saw momentum, with QLED models up 23% and Mini-LED TVs growing 27% y-o-y.

Laptop sales soared, with the MacBook Air M4 selling at 94 times higher than business-as-usual levels, while the Sony Home Theatre System clocked 196 times regular sales volumes. On the business front, Amazon Business recorded a 6x jump in sign-ins compared to normal days, while bulk orders grew 4.4x.

Small and medium businesses (SMBs) were among the biggest gainers. Amazon said that two out of three sellers from tier 2 and 3 cities tripled their sales, with the highest-ever number of sellers crossing the ₹10 lakh milestone during the opening days of the sale, reported The Hindu
