Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are reportedly expecting their first child, with Deepika said to be in her second trimester, according to a source of The Week. Speculations arose when Deepika reportedly concealed her midriff at the 77th BAFTA red carpet, where she adorned a shimmery saree and custom jewellery by Sabyasachi Mukherjee.
Deepika recently starred in the aerial action thriller film Fighter opposite Hrithik Roshan and will next appear in the sci-fi action thriller film Kalki 2898 AD alongside Prabhas, scheduled for release on May 9, 2024. Meanwhile, Ranveer will reprise his role of Simmba in Rohit Shetty's cop drama Singham Again, which also features Deepika, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor, and Kareena Kapoor. He will also headline Farhan Akhtar's Don 3, set for a 2025 release.

The couple tied the knot on November 14, 2018, at Italy's Lake Como after dating for six years. Their journey began on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's romantic film Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela and continued with collaborations in Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat. Last November, they celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in Belgium.
In a January interview with Vogue Singapore, Deepika expressed her excitement about motherhood, stating, “Absolutely. Ranveer and I love children. We look forward to the day when we will start our own family.”
