Hundreds attend Bhagavat Saptah Gyan Yagnya

The Shreemad Bhagavat Saptah Gyan Yagnya by Pujyashree Bhupendrabhai Pandya was held in Auckland from 2nd May 2010 to 9th May 2010. It was the first ever 108-pothi samuhik Bhagavat katha in the South Pacific region. The event was organised by Sri Vishnu Satkarma Charitable Trust with the guidance and inspiration of Ravin Kotak and Anita Kotak of Auckland.
The people of Auckland were anxiously awaiting this event for a long time.
The first day of the katha was more of a warm up session where Pujya Bhaiji had explained the “Mahatmya” of the Shreemad Bhagavat.
During the next five days, the sessions started from 6pm. Mahaprasad was served after the katha everyday. Pujya Bhaiji’s explanations of this great scripture in simple language, interspersed with lively humour had the audience spell bound.
One of the main points of Bhaiji’s discourse was that he goes beyond the explanation of the literal text and emphasises on the relevance and the application of the teaching of the scriptures in our daily lives. The beautiful and melodious bhajans sung by the Bhajan Mandali were a much-appreciated interlude during the katha.
On Saturday, 8th May 2010, there were two sessions and it was the last day of the katha. The devotees were so much enlightened and inspired during the weeklong katha celebrations, that they felt sorrowful that it had come to an end. Ravin Kotak had taken the opportunity to express his gratitude and thanks to all the volunteers and devotees who had helped and participated in the katha, and made it a success.
On Sunday, 9th May 2010, there was the Shree Vishnu Yagnya performed by Pujyashree Bhaiji and his team. A huge number of devotees had assembled to take part in the Yagnya, which was followed by Mahaprasad.
Later that evening, there was a youth discussion session with Bhaiji. Pujya Bhaiji had addressed some of the problems and adversities faced by the modern day youth and provided solutions in a logical and rational manner. He also gave them some practical and useful tips to lead a successful life.
