Aged-care and health workers required in NZ’s response to Covid-19

The Ministry of Health is seeking expressions of interest from health and care support workers who are looking for paid work, or health organisations who need to employ extra workers as part of the response to COVID-19.
Health and care support workers have opportunities to work across the country, in contact and non-contact roles. Some people may be able to work from home. Training will be provided by employers.
There are opportunities in both general and clinically-specialised contact roles, as well as non-contact roles such as contact tracing, and work-from-home roles, such as Healthline operators
The government has recently relaxed visa restrictions for temporary migrant workers to be able to work in the aged and health care sectors - the two sectors on the frontline of the Covid-19 response efforts.
International students working part-time in the health care sector, including the aged residential care sector are now allowed to work full time for a period of 3 months.
A notification updated on the Ministry of Health website on Tuesday, April 7, notifies that various employers in these sectors are looking for workers such as Doctor, Nurses, Midwives , Medical Laboratory Scientists, Physiotherapists, Health care assistants, Care workers.
Interested workers are urged to register their interest on the Ministry of Health’s website at https://www.health.govt.nz/our-work/diseases-and-conditions/covid-19-novel-coronavirus/covid-19-novel-coronavirus-information-specific-audiences/covid-19-novel-coronavirus-resources-health-professionals/join-covid-19-health-workforce
However, it is important to note that interested applicants have to be qualified to be a paid health and care worker as part of New Zealand's COVID-19 response.
