Three injured in dog attack at Christchurch residential property
Three people were injured following a dog attack at a residential address in Bryndwr, Christchurch, on Friday afternoon.
According to a report by 1News, emergency services were alerted to the incident at a property on Bevin Place at around 2.45 pm. Police and paramedics responded to the scene, where three injured individuals were located.
Hato Hone St John confirmed that two of the victims were transported to Christchurch Hospital. One person sustained critical injuries, while another was reported to be in a serious condition. A third patient received treatment at the scene for minor injuries, 1News has reported.
Christchurch area commander, acting Superintendent Ash Tabb, said two dogs involved in the incident were secured by animal control officers.
"There is no ongoing risk to the public, and a scene examination will be carried out," Tabb said, as quoted by 1News.
Authorities remain at the scene as inquiries continue into the circumstances surrounding the attack.
