Aanand L Rai’s romantic drama Tere Ishk Mein, starring Dhanush and Kriti Sanon, has crossed a major milestone at the box office. By the end of day 4, the film has earned Rs 60.25 crore domestically, surpassing the lifetime total of its spiritual predecessor Raanjhanaa. As reported by The Indian Express

New call-to-action

Over its opening weekend, Tere Ishk Mein delivered strong double-digit numbers, consistently earning above Rs 15 crore each day. However, the momentum slowed on Monday.

The film collected Rs 8.25 crore on day 4, a significant drop from Sunday’s highest single-day figure of Rs 19 crore. Sunday’s numbers also marked an improvement over Saturday’s Rs 17 crore, which had marginally increased from Friday’s opening-day earnings of Rs 16 crore.

According to Sacnilk, the Hindi version has contributed approximately Rs 58 crore to the total, while the Tamil dubbed version—despite featuring Tamil superstar Dhanush and A.R. Rahman’s music—has earned only Rs 2.25 crore in four days.

With its current total of Rs 60.25 crore, Tere Ishk Mein has edged past the domestic collection of Raanjhanaa, which concluded its eight-week run at Rs 60.22 crore. It has also surpassed Aanand L Rai’s 2022 directorial Raksha Bandhan, which earned Rs 48.63 crore, and Dhanush’s recent Tamil directorial Idli Kadai, which made Rs 50.48 crore across Tamil and Telugu versions.

However, the film still trails behind Kriti Sanon’s last theatrical release, Crew (2023), which collected Rs 81.70 crore. Meanwhile, Tere Ishk Mein has overwhelmingly outperformed its competitor Gustaakh Ishq, which managed just Rs 1.36 crore in four days.

New call-to-action

With three more days before it faces major competition from Ranveer Singh’s upcoming action film Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, the Dhanush–Kriti starrer has a clear window to grow further.

Tere Ishk Mein belongs to “the world of Raanjhanaa,” the 2013 collaboration between Aanand L Rai and Dhanush, featuring Sonam Kapoor. The film reunites A.R. Rahman, Aanand L Rai, and Dhanush after Raanjhanaa and Atrangi Re, with the story written by Himanshu Sharma and backed by Colour Yellow Productions.
