Swami Ramgovind Das brings Bhagwat Katha to Auckland after Wellington address
A three-day Shri Shrimad Bhagwat Katha will be held in Auckland later this month, as part of an ongoing New Zealand visit by global spiritual leader and motivational speaker Swami Ramgovind Das.
The religious discourse, centred on Shri Krishna Katha, bhajans and prasadam, will take place on January 30 and 31 from 6.30pm to 9pm, and on February 1 from 12 noon to 3pm, at a private venue in Somerville, Howick. The event is being hosted by Neelu and Sujay Taore and is open to families and members of the wider community.
The Auckland programme follows a series of engagements by Swami Ramgovind Das across New Zealand, including a formal lecture on stress and anger management delivered earlier at the Indian High Commission in Wellington. The programme was organised by the High Commission of India in New Zealand and attended by Indian diplomats and senior officials.

Indian High Commissioner to New Zealand Neeta Bhushan formally welcomed Swami Ramgovind Das to the Embassy and acknowledged his contribution. During his address, the spiritual leader spoke about the increasing prevalence of stress and anger in modern life, particularly in high-pressure professional environments, and outlined practical approaches to emotional regulation through mindfulness, self-discipline and positive thinking. The lecture was well received by attendees.
Originally from Haldwani in India, Swami Ramgovind Das is the founder of Hari Sharranam Jun and the Shakthi Foundation, organisations focused on the upliftment of underprivileged communities. He has undertaken global tours for several years, engaging with Indian diaspora communities to promote spiritual values, cultural connection and ethical living.
During his current visit to New Zealand, Swami Ramgovind Das has also delivered lectures and spiritual discourses at multiple venues in both Wellington and Auckland, including the WIA Temple, Manawatu Hindu Temple, BAPS Wellington and the Sri Venkateshwar Temple. His engagements across these centres have drawn community participation and contributed to strengthening cultural and spiritual ties among the Indian diaspora.
The upcoming Bhagwat Katha in Auckland will continue this series of community-focused spiritual programmes during his New Zealand visit.
