Saif Ali Khan Opens Up on Terrifying Stabbing Attack

When Mumbai woke up on January 15, it was to shocking news from Bollywood — actor Saif Ali Khan had been brutally attacked at his own residence. The incident left him with multiple stab wounds on his neck and back, though thankfully none were fatal. Now, in a candid conversation on the chat show Two Much, hosted by Twinkle Khanna and Kajol, Saif has broken his silence on the horrifying night that nearly turned tragic. Reported by Screen 

Speaking to Screen, Saif recounted, “Kareena had been out, and I was watching a movie with the boys — Taimur and Jeh. We went to bed late, around two. A little later, our maid came in saying, ‘Jeh baba ke kamre mein koi hai. Uske haath mein chaaku hai aur bol raha hai paisa chahiye.’”

Startled, Saif rushed into Jeh’s room in the dark — only to find a man standing over his son’s bed with a knife. “He was waving it around so much that it cut Jeh and his nanny,” Saif told Screen. “I thought he was smaller than me, so I jumped on him. He had two knives and started slashing all over me.”

Drawing on his training, Saif tried to block the blows, but soon felt a heavy thump on his back. “I realized he had stabbed me in the spine,” he recalled. Their domestic help, Gita, intervened heroically — pulling the attacker off him and saving his life. “We locked him in a room after that,” Saif added.

He then grabbed one of the decorative swords from the dining room but was already losing strength due to his injuries. Kareena Kapoor immediately rushed to his side and insisted he go to the hospital. “Taimur looked at me and asked, ‘Are you going to die?’ I said, ‘I don’t think so, but my back hurts,’” Saif said.

On the way to the hospital, the attacker managed to flee. When Saif arrived, the staff was half asleep. “I asked for a stretcher. When they hesitated, I said, ‘I am Saif Ali Khan and this is a medical emergency!’ That’s when chaos broke out,” he told Screen with a faint smile.

Despite sustaining multiple cuts, Saif later walked out of the hospital, surprising many who doubted the severity of his injuries. “It was painful but manageable. I didn’t want to cause more worry,” he said. Twinkle Khanna even recalled Sharmila Tagore telling her that she had advised her son to leave in a wheelchair.

Saif, however, refused. “I didn’t want to make it a spectacle,” he concluded.
