Luna And The Lost Light

Sometimes the journey isn’t to find the light, but to remember we have it within us.
Sometimes the journey isn’t to find the light, but to remember we have it within us.

In a forest where the trees had this cool, soft glow at night, there was this young fox named Luna. Her tail? Seriously shimmery, like moonlight.

New call-to-action

She loved tearing through the meadows with her two best buds, Toby, the turtle, super chill, and Ollie, the owl. So, one morning, Luna wakes up, and things are weird. The forest, usually sparkly and gently lit, was totally dark. Even her tail was barely glowing. “Uh oh,” she said. “The forest light is gone!” She runs over to Toby’s pond.

Toby’s just chilling, eating lily pads. “Yeah, I heard,” he says, super slow as usual. “The Light Spirit that, like, makes our forest glow? It disappeared last night.” Ollie swoops down. “We’re doomed without it,” he says. Luna gets this determined look in her eyes. “Then let’s get it back!” And off they went.

First stop: the River of Whispers. The water there kinda whispers secrets if you listen. Luna was ready to charge right across, but Toby stopped her. “Hold up,” he says. “The river only talks to calm folks.” So they sit down and listen to the water. After a bit, the ripples kinda form glowing words: “The Light hides where kindness is.” Luna’s like, “Kindness… huh? Maybe someone who needs help!”

They follow the river until they get to this dark cave. Inside, they hear someone crying. It’s this tiny firefly next to a pile of broken crystals. “I was taking the Light Spirit home,” the firefly says, sniffling, “but I got lost. And now it’s all my fault everything’s dark.” Luna steps up and smiles. “Hey, it’s okay. Everyone gets lost sometimes. We'll help you.”

The firefly starts to glow a bit brighter, like it's hopeful. “Really?” “Really,” Toby says. “That's what friends do, right?” The firefly leads them deeper, and they find the Light Spirit stuck in these sparkly crystal vines. “We got this!” Luna shouts. Ollie starts flapping his wings to clear away the dust, Toby shoves at the crystals, and Luna starts nibbling at the vines. Finally, crack! The last vine breaks.

The Light Spirit floats up, glowing like crazy. “You found me,” it says quietly. “Your kindness brought me back.” As it floats up higher, the forest starts to glow again, trees, rivers, flowers, everything shining gold.

That night, the three are lying under the stars, watching their reflections in the water.

Luna grins. “I guess the forest wasn’t really dark… we just needed to find the light inside us first.”

Moral of the Story

Being nice and working together can bring light even when things seem totally dark.
