India wins ICC Championship Trophy 2013

India won the ICC Championship Trophy, beating England by 5 runs in 20 overs yesterday (June 23) in Birmingham.
Indian bowlers restricted England to 124 runs for the loss of eight wickets, after they posted 129 runs for seven on the final scoreboard.
This is India's second trophy, previously shared with Sri Lanka in 2002.
England had already made a poor start to the match by losing their wicket of skipper Alastair Cook in the second over of the innings.
As R. Ashwin managed to get a brillant catch off Umesh Yadav and dismissed Cook.
Eoin Morgan and Ravi Bopara added 64 runs in the 5th wicket partnership, putting England on stable innings.
However pacer Ishant Sharma, turned the tables in India's favour when he gave away 36 runs in his four overs, picking up the wickets of Morgan and Bopara in consecutive deliveries.
Hence bringing down Englands hopes of winning the cup. England was reduced to 46 for 4 in 8.4 overs.
Bopara became a favourite with the English Bowlers, as he took 3 wickets and gave away 20 runs in his 4 overs.
Ravindra Jadeja was declared Man of the Match, as he bowled Jos Buttler and Tim Bresnan.
Although he was run out by Rohit Sharma, as England progressed 113 runs for 8 wickets in 18.4 overs.
Virat Kohli, remained the top-scorer for the World Champions with his 43. Both Kohli and Jadeja added 47 runs in the 6th wicket partnership which helped India gain 129 runs in 7 wickets.
Players Stuart Broad and James Tredwell remained not out till the end. Whilst Aswin, Jadeja and Sharma took two wickets each.
Performances of Rohit Sharma (9), Dinesh Karthik (6), Suresh Raina (1) and MS Dhoni (0) were panned, saying they failed to deliver.
Opener Shikhar Dhawan has also been named player of the ICC Champions Trophy this year, due to his tremendous consistency in the tournament.
Dhawan scored 31 off 24 balls to leading India into the final victory.
