Representatives of Overseas Friends of BJP meets visiting Indian Minister in Auckland

Representatives of the Overseas Friends of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) – a diasporic conglomeration of supporters of the BJP, which started in the United States (US) and United Kingdom (UK) – met with the visiting Indian Minister Jaswantsinh Bhabhor on the sides of community meet and greet at the Auckland Consulate Office on Saturday, May 19.

Akash Rawal, one of the lead organiser of the New Zealand branch of the Overseas Friends of BJP told the Indian Weekender, “It was great to have the Minister in Auckland when current, Prime Minister Modi-led government, is celebrating its fourth anniversary.”

It was on May 24, 2014, that Prime Minister Modi-led BJP government was sworn-in after returning to parliament with a thumping two-thirds majority.

Speaking further about the meeting, Mr Rawal said, “The Minister is going to Samoa and will be coming back to Auckland sometime next week.

“We have extended our invitation to the Minister for the celebratory event in Auckland which is being planned on Sunday, May 27 for the fourth anniversary of NDA government in New Delhi.”

“The Minister had extended his good wishes to everyone in the Overseas Friends of BJP New Zealand and assured that he would see how best to accommodate his itinerary.”
