Amid the chaos caused by the tornado in Auckland, an Indian restaurant is offering free dinner to people affected by the storm.

The powerful winds that gushed across the country on Tuesday night, April 10 and early Wednesday morning and has wreaked havoc in the city with power outrage in many regions. Several parts of Auckland has witnessed uprooted trees, roofs of houses and shops blown away and has caused delays on the road, rail and cancelling flights and ferries.
Restaurateur Kumesh Kunala spoke to The Indian Weekender and requested to convey the message to the community members of the free dinner for the affected.
“People can go to any of our Satya Restaurant branches such as in the city, Mt Eden, Sandringham and dine there with their family and friends or get a takeaway packed,” he added.
“We have been in the business for 20 years, and we look for such opportunities where we can give back and serve the community,” Kumesh Kunala told The Indian Weekender.
Power company Vector said on Wednesday 93,000 homes throughout the region had no electricity.
“People do not have electricity and cannot cook at home. So we ask them to come to any of our restaurants and take free food. The food is available from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today,” Kumesh said.
