Hemin Limbachiya bids goodbye to New Zealand

Hemin Limbachiya, the 26-year-old who died at Waimarama Beach on Sunday, January 15 has bid goodbye to New Zealand last night.
Mr Limabachiya’s body repatriation procedure was completed earlier this week and flown back to India on Singapore Airlines on Sunday morning, January 21 at 1:15 a.m. flight.
“The body of Mr Limbachiya came to Auckland earlier this week, and all the arrangements were made to send his body back,” Robert M Russell of Davis Funerals told The Indian Weekender.
Mr Limbachiya’s wife Tanvi Bhavsar and a close family relative who survived the unfortunate incident at the beach are travelling back to perform Mr Limachiya’s last rites back home.
Mr Limbachiya, his wife and a close relative lived in Napier and had gone for a holiday at Waimarama Beach on Sunday, January 14 and got drifted into the water after sometime.
The local beach goes spotted the three in distress and jumped into the water to rescue. All three were pulled out of the water, but Mr Limbachiya failed to respond to more than 20 minutes of CPR. He died at the scene.
Ms Bhavsar and the third person were taken to the Hawkes Bay hospital in a serious condition where they recovered the next day.
Mr Limbachiya and his wife Tanvi Bhavsar got married in India on December 4 after a civil wedding in Wellington in 2016, media earlier reported.
The couple had been living in New Zealand for the last four years and were planning to start a family here, but Ms Bhavsar now wanted to return back to India.
The Indian High Commission in New Zealand got in touch with the friends of the couple and assisted in the body repatriation process.
Mr Limbachiya’s body will reach his hometown Baroda, Gujarat in India on Monday and his last rites will be performed there.
