Bhagwad Gita in Auckland's hotels and motels

"Many Western, and even Indian people, are amazed to see such clear and scientific solutions to the many difficulties we are now facing in our lives, such as stress and anxiety. The majority of the population are desiring relief from the ever stressful atmosphere of the modern work, buy, consume, die ideology of consumeristic culture," says Bhadrasena Das of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness.
He is engaged in distributing copies of Hinduism's holiest book, the Bhagwad Gita. "We provide weekly workshops and distribute a great deal of transcendental books to many people in Auckland. We teach and educate receptive persons from all walks of life, highlighting the scientific solutions offered by Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita to our current societal and individual dilemmas," he says.
"In the current climate the main focus for seeking pleasure and satisfaction is through economic expansion and technology. This pursuit to seek happiness through materialism is now revealing its short comings. Like many ancient teachings, the Bhagwad Gita is sometimes seen as out of date or irrelevant for dealing with modern issues. This is a big misunderstanding and an unfortunate state of affairs.
"The Bhagavad Gita contains economics, sociology, science, astrology, chemistry, health, psychology, with answers to our current perplexities. The pursuit for unlimited sensual pleasure through the exploitation of our limited material resources has left a legacy of social and environmental catastrophes," he adds.
Das has been distributing the Bhagavad Gita into many hotels and motels in Auckland. "We have to make this knowledge available to everyone, so they can take advantage, as I did, and apply the practical lifestyle recommendations given by Krishna, which produce real peace and happiness. Often it is hard to find time to reach out to others, but here is an opportunity anyone can partake in. Even a small donation makes a difference.
"Currently all the hotels and motels have the Bible, which caters for a specific aspirant, however the Bhagavad Gita caters for everyone, as it explains the universal principles of all scriptures. Nowhere in Bhagavad Gita does Krishna say you have to be a Hindu or Christian or whatever. He simply speaks to all living entities or jivas (Spiritual sparks of the Supreme)."
Das is looking for sponsors to buy copies so they can be distributed widely. "I can distribute them in to as many Hotels and Motels as possible. Each Hotel as on average 30 to 50 rooms, so I need as many as possible.
