David Cunliffe visits SCRATCHPAD

Labour MP David Cunliffe recently visited the SCRATCHPAD office in St Lukes to watch on of their coding programs in action. The former Labour leader seemed interested to know more about the work that SCRATCHPAD is doing and even more amused with their resident robot—Spot.
One of the newest learning centres and educational ventures, SCRATCHPAD focuses on helping young people not only to use the latest technologies but also to create them while developing skills that will prepare them for the future. They encourage their students to love, use, and create opportunities with technology.
SCRATCHPAD is every day encouraging Kiwi kids to learn about and become interested in the limitless world of technology—not just those enrolled in regular sessions at the centre but through their frequent free open days and demonstrations they hold for companies, community groups and local schools.
