Kanwaljit Singh Bakshi rides along with the New Zealand Police

Kanwaljit Singh Bakshi had the opportunity to ride along with Inspector Alan Shearer of the Counties Manukau Police District.
“The ride along was a rare opportunity for me to witness first-hand the fantastic service, the New Zealand Police, New Zealand Fire Service, andother emergency services provide to New Zealanders every day,” said Mr Bakshi.
“Under this National-led Government crime rates are down and Police are being supported to provide more effective policing and crime prevention. Budget 2015 is investing $164 million over four years in operating funding to help the Police carry on their good work.
“Previously, we put 600 extra police officers on New Zealand streets to ensure the safety and security of our citizens; 300 were in Manukau. These are positive and pragmatic steps towards taking care of present and future New Zealanders.
“Police should be commended on their excellent work in the community, which is seeing real results with a 22 per cent drop in recorded crimes over the past five years,” said Mr Bakshi.
