The countdown to digital TV is on

With less than a month until TV in Auckland and the rest of the upper North Island ‘goes digital’, more than 90 per cent of households are already watching digital TV.
“Nearly everyone in the upper North Island switchover region is now watching digital television, but there are still more than 65,000 households that need to act or face the prospect of no TV from December 1,’ says Going Digital National Manager, Greg Harford.
“At this stage I’m asking people to check in with their friends, families and neighbours and help out anyone who’s not yet sorted. With just days to go, the time to act is now.”
“It’s also worth thinking about any other TVs in your house, and recorders, because all TV equipment needs to go digital if you want to keep using it after 1 December.”
“Going Digital has been working hard in the community to raise awareness of the need to go digital, and we’ve also delivered more than 29,000 free installations and training to vulnerable groups under the Going Digital Targeted Assistance Package”
“Anyone who needs more information can call us on 0800 838 800 or visit www.goingdigital.co.nz.”
The South Island and the lower North Island, which includes Wellington, Taranaki, Gisborne and Hawke’s Bay have already gone digital.
