Bollywood Express enchants Aucklanders, wins hearts
The second performance of Bollywood Express, a Bollywood dance drama based on the lives of three orphans was a resounding success.

It was held at the ASB Theatre at the Aotea Centre in downtown Auckland on July 5. One year in the making, the dance drama has a crew of over 100 and comprises dozens of props and equipment.

The audience described the choreography as “simply amazing”. Devised by the young sister duo Akshita and Rachna Kumar the show is styled under their production banner, Indiance, and all participants receive training free of cost.

The girls’ father Vinod Kumar of Mitre 10 Mega who financially supports the activity told Indian Weekender that this was not a profit making exercise but something to keep youngsters gainfully occupied while honing their talents in performing arts like dance and music.

After this superlative performance in Auckland, the entourage is off to Wellington for another performance next weekend, complete with the hundred-strong crew and a number of proud parents who will pay their own way to watch their children perform.

Another sell-out show is not hard to imagine in the capital city. Indian Weekender wishes the young team the very best.
