Events and sales star joins Humm 106.2 FM

After making waves in the Fiji radio market, he's now all set to make a big splash in the Auckland Radio market. We are talking about Ronny Kumaran, who is now the Sales and Events manager at Humm FM.
Ronny has organised various events like the Diwali Dhamaka, Hibiscus festival, anti-rape concerts, the concert of hope (Fiji’s biggest open air concert), to raise funds for 'Save The Children Trust' (Fiji). He has executed many exciting events in FBC (Fiji Broadcasting Corporation) like radio station open days, events for blood collection for the central hospital in Suva and many others cultural events to maximize integration of all cultures in Fiji. Now it’s time for Ronny Kumaran to shine in Auckland.
Mr Kumaran has been hired by 5Tunz Communications Limited, operators of Humm FM in Auckland.
5Tunz Executive Director Roshila Prasad said, “Ronny will bring some great skills to New Zealand. We have some fabulous ideas, which will promote integration through events in the Auckland radio market.” Mr Kumaran will lead Humm FM’s Sales and Events team in Auckland.
Mr Kumaran has worked for six radio stations owned by the Fiji Broadcasting Corporation Limited and has a wealth of experience from this competitive market.
Humm FM is Auckland’s first FM ethnic Indian radio station offering advertisers and listeners with commercials and music in superior FM quality.
Managing Director Satyan Prasad said Humm FM is committed to serving the community, in addition to meeting its commercial targets. “We have been on air for just over six months and we have made some good relationships and inroads with the community already,” he said.
Humm FM has an integrated approach to marketing the station, online and social media being on top of their strategy. According to the latest figures released by the company, the online streaming itself has 20,000 listeners in August 2011.
“Humm FM is here to stay and we want you to be part of the buzz and enjoy the listening experience in full digital stereo quality that was missing in our community,” Mr Prasad said.
