Experience the world of incredible India at the 2009 Look Good Feel Better Dream Ball and Auction in Auckland next month (August).
Bollywood is the theme for the Dream Ball evening - a fantastic annual event that supports women with cancer. This glamorous black-tie soiree promises to transport guests to “Bollywood” – the land where dreams are made and slumdogs become millionaires.
Step into a magical world, breathe in the spices and take in the soothing sounds from a traditional Indian Sitar, before enjoying the colourful spectacle that is Bhangara Dancing with the Punjabi Virsa.
Guests can try their luck fishing in the Taj Mahal pond, visit the Indian bazaar for unique, authentic gifts or have their future told by a traditional Indian astrologer.
With a live and silent auction, fabulous prizes up for grabs and fantastic entertainment, the Dream Ball promises to be a night of excitement, colour and spice. All proceeds will go to Look Good Feel Better to help women with cancer transform their lives.
Tickets include a delicious three-course dinner, top-class wines and great entertainment from Indian performers, ball organisers said.
So tie saris, don turbans and don’t forget a bindi. Another fantastic Dream Ball awaits that will make guests look good and feel better and help women with cancer do the same.
Look Good Feel Better is a registered national charity that works for women with cancer. At special makeover workshops throughout New Zealand, hair and makeup experts donate their time to guide women with cancer on their appearance.
The women not only get a brand new look, but learn how to do it themselves at home with complimentary cosmetics donated by the beauty industry. It’s a vital boost to self-esteem at a time when they need it most.
