Shirdi Saibaba Temple of New Zealand Inc celebrated Sita Ram Vivahotsav (wedding) on April 10, at Mahatma Gandhi Centre, Auckland, for the first time in New Zealand.
This holy celebration started with Abhishekam for Shirdi Saibaba at 8.30am. More than 100 devotees have done abhishekam and had baba’s blessings.
The wedding ceremony started with Lord Rama’s parents bringing HIM into the kalyan mandap.
Then Mata Sita’s parents brought HER into kalyan mandap. Acharya Ajay Tiwari started the wedding ritual with Ganesh pooja followed by mangal snan for both Lord Rama and Mata Sita, by their parents.
This was followed by kanyadaan, hawan and magal sutra. The hall was packed with devotees watching the whole wedding process with devotion. There was Baba’s Madhyan Aarthi followed by maha prasad.
Shirdi Saibaba Temple executive committee was well appreciated by the entire Auckland hindu community for performing this event, first time in New Zealand and for giving opportunity to hundreds of Aucklanders to participate in this holy celebration. .
