All roads led to Due Drop Events Centre (formerly Vodafone Events Centre) recently, where a packed house witnessed an enthralling and electrifying performance by famous Indian singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya.

The crooner, who has sung hits like Main Koi Aisa Geet Gaaon, Ole Ole, Yeh Teri Aankhen Jhuki Jhuki, Tan Tana Tan Tan Tara and Tum Dil Ki Dhadkan, among others, gave a mesmerising and memorable performance before hundreds of fans.

Describing his experience in Auckland, the 63-year-old singing sensation said, “It was a sheer pleasure performing in Auckland. The love I got from the amazing crowd is incredible.”

During the show, which JK Star Production organised, Abhijeet kept the enthusiastic audience on their toes as he churned out melodious songs one after the other.

The vibes were ecstatic, with every song recalling the era of the 90s and 2000s. The ambience was great, and everyone sang along as he crooned his hit songs. It was a special night to remember.

Abhijeet interacted  with the audience throughout and even gave a glimpse of his personal life which touched the cord of many fans. The singer gave an electrifying performance on many hit songs such as Badi Mushkil hai, Tumne na jaana and Koi zero yahan, among others.

His fans were left gushing.

“It was good to see Abhijeet’s performance after 12yrs in Auckland. He was the best and mesmerised the audiences with his great evergreen blockbuster hit songs of the 90s and 2000s. Enjoyed every moment of it, ” said  Megha Sareen, who travelled from Hamilton to attend the show.

JK Star welcomed extremely talented local artists of Auckland on stage, offering a complete entertainment package which included the musical drama of Om Shanti Om and Sholay Returns by Viraf Todywalla of V4U Events.

Gujarati theatre artist and known face of the Indian community, Rupal Solanki, who was part of the drams , termed it “a fantastic night of high energy performance.” It was not just Abhijeet’s soulful voice but how he took the crowd on a journey from one song to another, sharing some great stories of his life, and Bollywood was incredible. It was a humble and overwhelming experience to be a part of an event that is usually exclusively for International artists, Solanki added.

Another artist Aseem Wadhwa said, “As an audience, I felt like a rewind of all the super hits from 90's and 2000's movies, and Abhijeet sang like a true Badshah. And as a performer, sharing the stage with a legend was an experience like no other. His aura was magical.”

Calling it "an awesome concert filled with nostalgia,"another artist Vishal Chugh said, “ The way Abhijeet shared the story of his journey in the music industry brought a personal element to the show. The show was organised well, and an extra element of dance performances and theatre performances added to the appeal. The only thing that didn't work was the big screen behind Abhijeet at the stage showing all the sponsors while he was singing, which I felt took away from that appeal.”

Vanessa Castelino, who performed on stage along with Abhijeet, said, "I had so much fun at Abhijeet Bhattacharya’s Concert. Personally, for me, it was an amazing night as I has the privilege to perform with V4U group as we did the opening dance for his concert and also got to groove with Abhijeet on stage for his closing song on Ole Ole Ole.".
