Swaying to Garba beats

New Zealanders were seen dancing and having a gala time at the Maniyaro 2022. Some 1000 attendees swayed to the beats of famous artist Ishani Dave and her brother Hardik at the Auckland show that happened at Mahatma Gandhi Centre on Friday (August 26). On Saturday (August 27), the duo, who travelled to New Zealand from India especially for the tour, performed at YMCA Bishopdale in Christchurch, where there was a presence of around 800 people.
Sharing her experience of performing in NZ, Ishani, one of the noted performers from the Gujarati entertainment industry said, "This is my first visit to NZ, and the love I got from New Zealanders is just amazing. Gratitude is the word I have for the love I have received.”
Talking about the same, Maniyaro's organiser, Swapnil Shah, said, "We had such a great response to the show. It was our first show with international artists post-Covid-19, which was terrific. We had people attending the event from across NZ. The crowd had a great time, and both artists were so excited about the same."
Even the guests couldn’t stop gushing about the event. Shilpaben Bhatt, who stays in Auckland CBD, said, “I thoroughly enjoyed the chemistry between Ishani and her brother Hardik. Being a Gujarati, the event had the true Gujarati flavour. It is great to have such an event to connect with our wider community more so because we have missed such events in the past two years due to the pandemic."
Sharing his experience, another attendee, Rakesh Patel, said, “I never had said such fun in last two years. It was a great way to reconnect to my Gujarati roots and culture.”
