Omicron wave grips Indian High Commission’s office in Wellington, visa processing and Consular services affected

The office of the Indian High Commission in Wellington has come under the grip of the ongoing massive Omicron wave in the country with more than 50 per cent staff testing Covid positive.
A press release from the High Commission’s office posted on Facebook and other social media platforms a short while ago said, “The rapid spread of COVID-19 cases recently has significantly affected the staff members working at the High Commission of India Wellington. Walk-in applications have already been suspended due to increased vulnerability and further avoid the spread of infection.”
The office is now working on a skeleton staff and would be prioritizing the urgent and important tasks, and have issued a revised timeframe for Consular services.
In view of the above, the High Commission is forced to revise the timeframe for processing consular applications as follows with immediate effect:
