Nirmaljeet’s body to be repatriated to India on Friday

The news of the death of Nirmaljeet, the 26 year old Indian national, in a multi-vehicle crash on SH1 in South Waikato on 9 February had the entire Indian community in shock and grief.
The final journey to his home country India will begin on Friday, February 25. Nirmaljeet, a migrant worker belonged to Uttar Pradesh and was employed as a farmworker in Putaruru. He was the only son of his parents – father Harvinder Singh and mother Davinder Kaur – who live in Village Dilari, Distt Rampur in Uttar Pradesh. He also has a younger sister Navneet Kaur, who lives in Brisbane, Australia.
His body will be repatriated to India on Friday through Emirates Airlines. Bhav Dhillon, Hon Consul of India, has confirmed that all documentation has been completed for the body repatriation.
Revealing more detailed info on the flights, Mr Dhillon said, “Nirmaljeet’s body will depart from Auckland on Friday, February 25 reaching Dubai the next day at 4.45 am and further leaving Dubai and reaching Delhi on February 27 at 2: 405 am.”
His family as well as friends are in deep shock ever since they got the news of his demise. One of his friends, Taran Cheema said, “It is very hard to believe that Nirmal is not with us anymore. His family is also deeply disturbed and waiting for the body of their beloved son so that they can do his last rites as per their traditions and bid him a final farewell."
