West Auckland shooting: Man dead after opening fire on three police officers

The man who injured three police officers after he opened fire on staff attending a call-out in Glen Eden today, has died after he was shot by Police.
A police officer is reported to be injured in an incident in West Auckland this morning.
Armed police are stationed on a cordoned-off street in Glen Eden near the scene of a house fire after earlier responding to reports reports of gunshots.
Police said the scene at Danube Place was "secure but still unfolding".
They said the incident happened at about 8.17am at Danube Place.
An RNZ reporter at the scene said there were at least seven police vehicles and visible smoke.
A woman who lives on Danube Lane in Glen Eden heard gunshots this morning when police were already at the scene.
The woman, who did not want to be named, said the street was still cordoned off but appeared to be "calm and quiet" at 11am.
Other residents have been waiting at the roadside for access to their houses.
They said they worried about the safety their family members who were at home and felt scared about such incidents.
Police have yet to provide details on what occurred, and have been approached for comment.
