Community grieves for lost miners

In this darkest hour following the extremely unfortunate Pike River Mine tragedy that has claimed the lives of 29 hardworking Kiwis, the management and staff of Indian Weekender and www.iwk.co.nz join our readers in expressing our deepest condolences and conveying our solidarity with the grieving families, the Grey District and the town of Greymouth.
The departed men were loving fathers, brothers, cousins, uncles, even grandfathers to their closely knit families and no words can really be enough to condole their irreparable loss in their hour of indescribable grief.
Indian Weekender has received a number of condolence messages from Indian organisations as well as individuals with a request to publish their deepest sympathies to the bereaved families and the nation as a whole. We reproduce some of them here and request readers to post their own messages in the comment box at the end of this story.

This is a national tragedy and in this hour of grief, on behalf of the Sikh Sangat The Auckland Sikh Society Inc. express its heart felt condolences to the bereaved families for the colossal loss of their dear ones.
