Shoot-out in Otahuhu: One shot dead

In a statement, Inspector Daniel Meade said police were called to Princess Street East about 9pm.
"The victim sustained a gunshot injury and died at the scene," Meade said.
"Both cordons, and scene guards, will remain in place overnight."
Talking to neighbours, gun shots were heard around the 9pm at a residential address in Princes Street East in the Auckland suburb of Otahuhu, following which police sirens and helicopters could be heard and many cordons have been put in place.
The cause of the shooting seems to be an argument at the scene as there is no information yet about a third party approaching the property and firing shots.
The social media was also abuzz with activity as on Facebook, nearby residents reported hearing “full on sirens and a helicopter” and “cops flying down the road”.
“Princes Street East, cops have road blocked off ... Ambos, lot's going on,” one resident wrote.
With the news of shootings growing by the day, South Auckland is increasingly becoming a dangerous place.
