Breaking: Auckland to move into Alert Level 1 from 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, October 7

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has announced that Auckland will be moving from current Alert Level 2 to Alert Level 1 from Wednesday, October 7- 11:59 p.m. that is Thursday, October 8 and the rest of NZ to stay in Alert Level 1.
PM Ardern says all signs point to the Auckland cluster being under control.
She says there is now a 95 per cent probability of the cluster being eliminated, according to research.
Only one person still has the virus and Ardern says she is confident that case has been contained.
"I know for many, this one has felt harder, especially for Aucklanders."
Ardern says at alert level 3, Treasury estimated the local economy was operating at 80-85 per cent.
Cabinet has confirmed that Auckland will join the rest of New Zealand at alert level 1 on Wednesday, 7 October, Ardern says.
She says a resurgence in the virus is not her only concern going forward, a resurgence in complacency is also a worry.
"We all want to avoid further restrictions ... but to stay at level 1 we need to be vigilant," she said.
"Everywhere I go Covid is at the top of people's minds," Ardern said on her recent travels around the country during her election campaign.
Ardern says she remains in contact with the Australian government over a possible travel bubble but reaffirms it's not ready yet.
It has been nine days since the last reported community case and health experts are expecting Auckland's Covid-19 alert level to move down.
Covid-19 modeller Shaun Hendy said his data shows a 95 percent chance we've eliminated the August Auckland cluster from the community.
Epidemiologist Michael Baker agreed there is a high likelihood the virus has been eliminated.
