Police concerned about safety of missing pregnant woman
Police have increased the size of the team searching for missing woman Sonam Shelar.
Sonam, who is five months pregnant, was last seen at 8.30am on Cashmere Avenue, Khandallah, on Saturday 17 November.
We have real concerns for her safety and need people to keep an eye out for her. It's been another cold night out there and our concerns are mounting.
We now have uniformed and Criminal Investigation Branch teams completing door knocks in the wider Khandallah area and we will continue to speak to people today.
Sonam is 26 years old, of slender build, and approximately 165cm tall.
When last seen she was wearing a brown jacket with fur on the hood, as well as white, black and orange trainers, which are featured in the attached photos.
If anyone sees Sonam or has information that might help find her, please dial 111 immediately.

MISSING INDIAN WOMAN IN WELLINGTON IS FIVE MONTHS PREGNANT
Sonam Shelar was last seen around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 17 on Cashmere Avenue.
According to reports, Ms Sonam Shelar got married to her husband Sagar Shelar in December last year, and Ms Shelar moved to New Zealand in April this year.
The couple is expecting their first child together, and Ms Shelar is five-months pregnant.
Mr Shelar told NZ Herald that his wife went missing since Saturday after being upset for a recent ultrasound.
"On November 15 we went for an ultrasound test at the hospital. She had always dreamed for a baby boy, but that day after the ultrasound they were not sure if it was a girl or boy.
"As soon as we got in the car she was crying and so upset because she wanted a boy," Mr Shelar told NZ Herald.
Last Saturday, Mr Shelar last for work while his wife was still in bed and he finds her home when he returned back.
Mr Shelar told that he would call his wife every day at 11 a.m. from work, but she didn’t answer to his calls last Saturday. Ms Shelar’s phone was switched off which was astonishing as her mobile was never switched off.
Mr Shelar went home at 1 p.m. and asked the landlord who said he hadn’t seen her since he got home at 10 a.m.
“Since that time I have been looking for her everywhere, and I have no clue where she is. She hasn't left a note or anything,” Mr Shelar said.
Mr Shelar said she left the house leaving the front door unlocked and keys inside.
She only took $20 in cash, her two cellphones and jacket. All her ID cards and ATM cards are still at home.
Police said Sonam was wearing a brown jacket with fur on the hood and white, black and orange trainers. She is described as of slender build and approximately 165cm tall.
"I have no idea where she is. I have searched every friend of hers and every contact she has had since she has been in New Zealand, but no one knows. She has not contacted anyone," Shelar said.
"I am scared and have been looking everywhere. I haven't got any clue where she is. I haven't slept or eaten. I have just been crying and thinking about her."
Mr Shelar said he was in regular contact with her family back in India.
Ms Shelar’s cousin Gauri Rahane said she had been calling her cell phone since but it is still switched off.
She said the family had no idea why she had disappeared or where she could be and were all very worried.
