Diwali dhamaka looms

Diwali will be celebrated in style at the ASB Stadium in Kohimarama on October 25.
The Diwali Cultural Festival is set to be a grand mela for the whole family, organizer Hardev Singh Brar said.
Brar, who is president of the New Zealand Indian Sports & Cultural Association, said the evening’s programme would feature singing, bhangra, gidha, and dancing.
Among the star-studded entertainment cast are Karamjit Dhuri, Hardev Mahinangal, Gora Chakwala, Jaspal Jassi, Kamal Ranewal, Deepa Domeli and Kiran Maan.
And the icing on the cake is that all attendees will go into a draw to win an airline ticket to Australia, courtesy of Pan World Travel Mangere.
Brar said entry to the function was free and they expected a good turnout from the community. Programme starts at 6.30pm.
