An Evening With Avadhoot Gupte

An Evening With Avadhoot Gupte

Those who missed the programme “An Evening With Avadhoot Gupte” probably don’t know what have they missed.

The show organised by Auckland Marathi Association Inc (AMAI) was a grand success and was a show of its own kind. It was not a musical concert. It was people’s show where the crowd enjoyed the musical journey of Avadhoot; his life with his achievements, struggles, successes, his likes and dislikes, and offcourse his famous numbers. Not only his own famous numbers but people asked him to sing songs of other singers, music directors and lyricists who inspired him.
Avadhoot, the anchor of his own show “Khupte Tithe Gupte” was sitting on the other side of the fence this time & faced some very tricky questions thrown at him by the anchor of the evening Vivek Anturkar with real ease. He not only answered the questions comfortably but also ended up the conversation with his famous number “Aika Dajiba”. As the show picked up, he was joined by another famous celebrity artist of Marathi film industry, Janhvi Prabhu Arora on the stage. They both took the event to the next level. Her famous song “Unch majha zoka” was an amazing experience for the enthusiastic crowd.
In Avadhoot’s words, his decision to come to Auckland was one of the best decisions of his life. He got so much charged up with the response he got from the fabulous crowd who turned up in huge number that there was no stopping him. Janhvi and him kept singing their famous numbers one after the other that brought people to the dance floor. His famous songs “Aika Dajiba” and “Tuze dekh ke meri madhubaba” saw the front of the stage chocked up with dancers who didn’t want to stop.
The programme ended with “Jay Jay Maharashtra maza” and Avadhoot was joined by everyone from the crowd and the last moments saw the crowd chanting “Jay Bhavani, Jay Shivaji, Jay Maharashtra”. Avadhoot said that it was a celebration and a unique experience and he enjoyed every moment of it. The programme went on beyond the planned event time as the crowd kept on asking for more and he very sportingly continued giving what crowd wanted.
The event was very well planned and executed by AMAI. The parents with young kids could enjoy every bit of the show as the Association had professional child minding services from Kuddles. This was made available free to cost to the parents.
Avadhoot has promised that he will visit Auckland shortly for the premier of his new film and offered to extend help to make Marathi films available to New Zealand Marathi Audience.
