Salman next in line for prison?

Actor Salman Khan may have his verdict announced in a Mumbai sessions court this week for his 2002 hit-and-run case.
The actor was driving a SUV and had run into a bakery in Bandra, Mumbai, causing a fatal accident in which one person was killed whilst four others were injured.
The court will deliver the verdict in light of Khan’s appeal against a magistrate’s order for his retrial in this case, under the charge of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
In February this year, Khan had challenged the order and filed a revision petition, pleading the charges laid against him to be dropped. The actor has been facing the trial for rash and negligent driving amounting to a maximum sentence of two years for the convict.
However, in January this year, the court in charge of the case accepted that the police had provided enough evidence going against the actor.
Hence, the case so far convicts the actor for culpable homicide not amounting to murder, which includes a punishment of upto ten years in prison.
