Maoists derail Rajdhani express near Gaya

Gaya: Seven coaches, along with the engine of the Bhubaneswar-New Delhi Rajdhani Express got derailed near Gaya station on Monday night after Maoists blew up a portion of a railway track between Kastha and Paraiya in the area, police said.
There were reportedly no casualties or injuries because the train was running slow and so it did not fall on its side after being derailed.
According to TV reports, three trains have been cancelled and 17 others diverted following the attack.
There were also reports of Maoists blowing up railway tracks in Jharkhand, Orissa and West Bengal.
The rebels blew up railway tracks in Jharkhand's Ranchi district, between Jhargram and Gidhni in West Bengal and near Birsa railway station in Orissa, reports said.
A two-day bandh called the rebels across West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhatisgarh, Orissa and Andhra Pradesh as well as three districts of Maharashtra began on Monday.
The bandh has been called in protest against the Operation Greenhunt, the Centre's offensive against Maoists. The bandh also protests the Union Budget, which the Maoists have labelled as anti-poor.
All the seven states are on high alert.
