Subrata Roy of Sahara Group sent to jail

The Supreme Court sent Sahara Group chief Subrata Roy and two other company directors to judicial custody till March 11.
The apex court has asked the Sahara group to come up with a proposal to repay the money which it owes to its investors.
The detention of the fourth respondent, Vandana Bhargava has not been ordered as she has been given a concession for being a woman director.
Earlier in the day, as Roy reached the Supreme Court, a man threw ink at him and called him a thief, said reports.
According to reports, the man said his name is Manoj Sharma, a resident of Gwalior, and that he is an advocate by profession.
TV footage showed other lawyers and Sahara supporters thrashing Sharma after the incident.
However, Sharma flaunted his torn shirt and said he is "proud" of what he has done.
Roy was brought to New Delhi from Lucknow via Agra on Monday night.
Roy was sent to police custody till Mar 4 on Friday.
The Chief Judicial Magistrate court in Lucknow had earlier reserved its order on Roy, asking the media and others to leave court.
Roy had requested the court to place him under house arrest. The police had sought his transit remand.
Earlier, the court had directed Sahara to hand over the title deeds of its properties worth Rs 20,000 crore to the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
Accusing Sahara Group of playing 'hide and seek', the Supreme Court on Oct 29 asked the group to hand over the title deeds of its properties worth Rs 20,000 crore to the SEBI.
Hearing contempt petitions filed by the SEBI for not complying with the Aug 31, 2012 directions on refund of deposits, the court had ruled that Sahara chief Subrata Roy cannot leave the country without the permission of the court.
