Advani will accept BJP's decision: Rajnath

New Delhi, June 11 (IBNS): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Rajnath Singh on Tuesday said party patriarch LK Advani has accepted the BJP Parliamentary Board's decision that rejected his resignation.
"In the Central Parliamentary Board's meeting we had decided unanimously and rejected Advaniji's resignation letter. Advaniji has decided that whatever party decides, he will accept it," Rajnath Singh said while addressing a press conference at Advani's residence here.
"We all met Advaniji and requested him that we need his guidance. He accepted our request," Singh said.
Advani on Tuesday met Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat.
"Mohan Bhagwat has asked him (Advani) to accept the BJP Parliamentary Board's decision and continue to guide the party. Advanji has accepted to accept Mohan Bhagwatji's advise," Singh said.
Singh has assured Advani that his concerns about the functioning of the party would be properly addressed.
The BJP in a statement on Tuesday said: "The BJP Parliamentary Board yesterday decided not to accept Shri L.K. Advani’s resignation from the three main fora of the Party – the National Executive, Parliamentary Board and Election Committee and requested him to continue to be a member of these three Bodies."
"On behalf of the Party Shri Rajnath Singh assured Shri Advani that his concerns about the functioning of the Party would be properly addressed and the President will discuss the modalities of addressing these concerns with Shri Advani," the BJP said.
"Today afternoon, RSS Sarsanghchalak, Shri Mohan Bhagwat spoke to Shri Advani and asked him to respect the BJP Parliamentary Board decision and continue to guide the Party in national interest. Shri Advani has decided to accept Shri Bhagwat’s advice," it said.
Welcoming Advani's decision, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi tweeted: "I had said yesterday that Advani ji will not disappoint lakhs of Karyakartas. Today, I whole heartedly welcome his decision!"
In a major blow to BJP, Advani on Monday resigned from all positions in the party and said most leaders 'are now concerned just with their personal agendas'.
Rajnath Singh, however, rejected his resignation.
Advani took the decision a day after Modi was made the chief of the election campaign committee of the BJP for the 2014 general elections.
