Mumbai: As entire India paid tribute to all those who lost their lives in the 26/11 terrorist attack in Mumbai, celebrities also shared their opinions and feelings to their fans over Twitter to commemorate the date.
From cricketers to actors the microblogging site was full of tweets, remembering the martyrs.
"26/11 - Thoughts n prayers for the victims n their families. Memory of the bravery of our police / defence forces n also .......the many civilian heroes who went far beyond their call of duty n hv set an example for us to help each other in times of need. God bless," tweeted iconic Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.
"Remembering the horrific tragedy on 26/11/08 in Mumbai while we were in India.. RIP all those who lost lives. Mumbai is an amazing city!!," remarked English cricketer Kevin Pietersen who was a part of the touring English side two years back when the tragedy rocked the entire nation.
"We will not forget ur sacrifice; We will not forget that u gave up ur present 4 r future! Jai hind !," wrote actor Preity Zinta from her Twitter account.
Actress Celina Jaitley remembered her close escape from meeting a shocking experience as she had left Trident (one of the terror attacked sites) just forty minutes before the attack took place.
"I left the trident 40 minutes before the attacks began it could have been me it cld hav been anyone of u all .. WE REFUSE TO BE TERRORISED," she posted.
Actor Sophie Choudry on the other hand posted a critical question to her fans.
She remarked: "26/11. 2yrs on & yet no justice. R we 'safer'?Is our police force bttr trained/bttr equipped?Most impt,do we hv genuine,responsible leaders?"
She added: "Safety doesn't come frm occasional baggage checks @ airports &hotels.Its comes frm responsible leaders & citizens &its upto us 2 mk a change."
Popular cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle said: "was walking by chowpatty just after midnight (so, this morning) past the spot where kasab was caught.so many thoughts of that evening,
first thought. it is a blessing to be doing whatever i am. second, we cannot forget the day and the people who caused it..third, so many brave people around who did great things with no desire to be recognised for them."
"One of the most tragic dates of our lives! I hope the loved ones rest in piece!! Let's maintain one minute silence for them in our hearts!," tweeted cricketer Yuvraj Singh.
