A late-night blaze that tore through the popular Sunflour Café in Ōrewa is being treated as suspicious, police confirmed.
Emergency services were called to the Hibiscus Coast Highway around 11.30pm on Saturday, with crews from Silverdale and East Coast Bays breaking into the two-storey building to contain the flames.
The café’s owners shared their heartbreak on social media, describing the fire as “devastating” but expressing relief that no one was injured. Reported by Stuff
