A worker at Aroha Restaurant and Bar in Glen Eden, West Auckland, was injured after confronting four masked robbers armed with hammers and bats, according to a report by The New Zealand Herald.
The offenders stormed the restaurant around 10.25pm on Great North Rd while customers were still dining. Detective Senior Sergeant Simon Harrison said the worker sustained moderate injuries after being assaulted and was taken to hospital for treatment.
A sum of money was reported missing, with police believing some cash dropped outside may have been taken by bystanders. The four suspects remain at large, and police have urged anyone with information to contact them online or call 105, quoting reference 251016/6883.
