Akshay Kumar’s latest action-comedy Welcome To The Jungle continues its impressive theatrical run, although the film experienced the expected weekday dip on Monday.

According to The Indian Express, the movie collected Rs 8.50 crore on its fourth day, taking its India net box office collection to Rs 72.25 crore.

With this, the film has also crossed the Rs 106 crore mark worldwide, earning Rs 106.48 crore against its reported Rs 125 crore budget, as per industry estimates.

New call-to-action

As reported by The Indian Express, the Ahmed Khan directorial enjoyed a strong opening weekend, collecting Rs 63.75 crore nett across India during its first three days.

However, like most commercial releases, the film witnessed a significant drop in collections once the weekdays began. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Monday’s earnings settled at Rs 8.50 crore, pushing the film’s domestic total to Rs 72.25 crore, while its worldwide gross climbed to Rs 106.48 crore.

The Indian Express further reported that despite the decline in earnings, the film maintained a reasonable level of audience interest across theatres nationwide. On Monday, Welcome To The Jungle registered an overall theatre occupancy of 20.90% across 10,922 shows.

The occupancy figures gradually increased throughout the day, with morning shows recording 11.85% occupancy, afternoon shows 20.46%, evening shows 22.69%, and night shows reaching 28.62%, indicating that evening audiences continued to contribute to the film’s collections.

According to The Indian Express, metro cities remained among the strongest-performing markets for the film. The Delhi-NCR region recorded an occupancy of 24.5% across 985 shows, while the Mumbai region registered 21.8% occupancy across 775 shows.

These numbers suggest that the film is continuing to attract audiences in key urban centres despite the expected weekday slowdown.

The film is currently facing competition from several other theatrical releases. As noted by The Indian Express, Imtiaz Ali’s Main Vaapas Aaunga is also running in cinemas, while several major releases are scheduled to arrive in the coming weeks.

Upcoming titles such as Alpha, Dhamaal 4, The Odyssey, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day are expected to intensify competition at the box office, making the coming days crucial for Welcome To The Jungle's overall theatrical performance.

Speaking about what makes the third instalment of the franchise different from its predecessors, Akshay Kumar recently shared his thoughts in an interview with HT. The actor explained how the film expands the scale of comedy and action while retaining the franchise’s signature chaos.

“The earlier Welcome films were madness in a living room. This one is madness in a jungle! We’ve taken the chaos, multiplied it by ten and dropped everyone into the middle of nowhere.

There are helicopters, action sequences, mistaken identities and so many characters that even we sometimes needed a headcount on set. What makes it fresh is that it’s not just a comedy of dialogues anymore. It’s comedy on a much bigger canvas — an adventure-comedy where something goes wrong every five minutes.”

Directed by Ahmed Khan, Welcome To The Jungle boasts one of the biggest ensemble casts seen in recent Hindi cinema. Alongside Akshay Kumar, the film stars Suniel Shetty, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Jackie Shroff, Paresh Rawal, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Farida Jalal, Johny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor, Rajpal Yadav, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Aftab Shivdasani, Mukesh Tiwari, Yashpal Sharma, Kiran Kumar, Zakir Hussain, Vindu Dara Singh, and Urvashi Rautela, among several others.

With more than Rs 106 crore collected worldwide in just four days, Welcome To The Jungle has delivered a promising start at the box office.

However, as The Indian Express highlighted, the film’s performance over the coming weekdays and its ability to sustain collections amid increasing competition will determine whether it can comfortably recover its reported Rs 125 crore production budget and emerge as another successful entertainer for Akshay Kumar.
