Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has personally invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the wedding of his son, Arjun Tendulkar, who is set to marry Saaniya Chandhok. Reported by The Week.
Sharing the update on Instagram, Tendulkar expressed gratitude after extending the invitation to the Prime Minister.
"We were honoured to invite Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji to Arjun and Saaniya’s wedding. Thank you, Modi ji, for your blessings and thoughtful advice for the young couple," the Instagram post of the cricket legend mentioned.
In addition to Modi, Tendulkar has also invited President Droupadi Murmu and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to the ceremony.
According to media reports, the wedding is expected to be a private affair on March 5, attended by close family members and friends. The couple reportedly got engaged last year in an intimate ceremony limited to relatives and close associates.
Arjun Tendulkar, a left-arm pacer, has represented the Mumbai Indians in five matches across two seasons, taking three wickets. He made his Under-19 debut for India in 2018 against Sri Lanka.
He later played his first T20 match for Mumbai in the 2020–21 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy against Haryana. After moving to Goa in 2022, he made his first-class debut in the Ranji Trophy against Rajasthan.
Saaniya Chandhok is the granddaughter of Mumbai-based businessman Ravi Ghai. A graduate of the London School of Economics, she serves as a designated partner and director at Mr Paws Pet Spa & Store, a luxury pet salon based in Mumbai.
The Ghai family has business interests in the hospitality and food sectors and owns the InterContinental hotel as well as the dessert brand The Brooklyn Creamery.
