Police have cordoned off the Prime Minister Christopher Luxon's Auckland electorate office, after a person nearby says he heard a loud bang this morning.

Pharmacist at nearby Millhouse Pharmacy in Botany, Phillip Kang, said he heard a loud bang this morning which he initially thought may have been a car crash, and then emergency services arrived at the scene shortly after.

Police had cordoned off the electorate office, and were guarding it, Kang said.
