NZ-Based Indian Writes 'NaMo Anthem' For Lok Sabha Elections

Nilax Pandya wrote 'NaMo anthem' as an ode to the Indian Prime Minister

A Gujarati who moved to Auckland less than a year ago has penned lyrics for a new song dedicated to the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the hope of "inspiring voters" ahead of the Indian general elections.

Nilax Pandya, who works as an operations manager in an Auckland-based company, says the 'NaMo anthem' is an ode to the Indian Prime Minister.

The song, featuring lyrics dedicated to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was released on 9 March 2024 on YouTube and other social media platforms. The four-minute song has already garnered over 14,000 views on YouTube.

Pandya created the final draft of the song on 15 August 2023. The song focuses on the developments and issues addressed during the Bharatiya Janata Party's tenure since 2014, including Demonetisation and Triple Talaq.

"I observed PM Modi’s vision, achievements, and challenges that came his way during his ten-year tenure to write the anthem lyrics," said Pandya.

New call-to-action

Pandya and the composers collaborated on different versions before finalizing the lyrics. It took Nilax 8-10 days of brainstorming to develop the major points he wanted to highlight. Singers and composers Santosh Kumar Parmar and Kishan Venugopal sought blessings from HariPrabodham Pariwar before releasing the anthem, which was produced by Sanatan Sparks.

A team of about seven Indians from around the world composed the Modi Anthem. The anthem's concept was visualized by Santosh Kumar Parmar and Kishan Venugopal, with singers Kishan Venugopal & Pallavi Dabholkar, and Nilax penning the lyrics.

"Despite the team's geographical diversity, everyone came together for Modi. The motivation to write and compose the anthem was the aspiration to inform viewers about the 'power of their vote' in the upcoming elections," Nilax said.

Unable to secure a budget for the anthem, the team decided to bear the production cost from their own pockets, a decision Nilax believes was "worth it." The anthem has received an overwhelming organic response online, with the number of views and shares steadily increasing.

This isn't the first time the team has written an anthem for PM Narendra Modi. In 2013, on Narendra Modi's 63rd birthday, they released the first version of 'NaMo Anthem' to wish him success during the 2014 general election. The Prime Minister also shared the Video on Twitter.
